Shonali Burke is the IABC-accredited, award-winning president & CEO of Shonali Burke Consulting, Inc., where she uses her signature blend of measurable “social PR” to help you join your online flock for better business results. Her career to date has seen Shonali launch landmark entertainment events, including for Cirque du Soleil and Russell Simmons; lead communications for the ASPCA, including through the 2007 pet food recall and Michael Vick case; and give refugees a voice both online and off via USA for UNHCR’s Blue Key campaign. Recent clients include the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, the United Nations Foundation, Marketwired, Cision, and tech luminaries Robert Scoble and Shel Israel, for whom Shonali successfully launched their critically-acclaimed 2013 book, Age of Context.

In 2007, PRWeek recognized Shonali as one of the “top 40 under 40″ PR professionals in the US. She’s been named one of 100 PR pros worth following on Twitter, one of 25 women that rock social media, and was featured at TEDxAdamsMorganWomen in December 2012.

In 2009, Shonali joined Johns Hopkins University as adjunct faculty for its M.A. in Communication program. That same year, she founded and still curates the #measurePR hashtag and Twitter chat. She continues to avidly blog at Waxing UnLyrical.
